Our Vision

We are storytellers—trusted by some of the world’s most recognizable brands.

With a dedicated staff and a large network of award-winning directors, cinematographers, editors and designers, we consistently deliver high-end work that gets noticed.

We believe in transparency and see you as a creative partner—not a client. You will be with us every step of the way. We want you to be as excited as we are about the process, and the final product. This approach has led to lasting relationships with clients who know they can trust us to get the job done time and time again.

Michael Ring | Owner/CCO | Mike co-founded The Garden Creative after a long stint on the agency and network side, most recently Discovery Channel where he oversaw creative advertising for various Discovery brands and developed and managed an internal motion design and animation group. He has earned many industry awards, including multiple Promax/BDA Gold and Silver awards, 2 Webbys, Graphis International Design Awards, Print Magazine, Addy Awards, Telly Awards and so on. He earned his BS and MFA in Visual Communication Design at Kent State University. Mike is also an award winning writer/director, and can be spotted at film festivals around the country. When not on-set, or behind a desk, Mike is either tending to his bees, or getting lost in the woods with his wife and dogs.
Scott Rinebold | Animation Director | Scott has been with the company since day one, working his way up from intern to Animation Director. He pairs his keen sense of design and typography, with his strong technical ability to create unique, award-winning work for a wide range of clients. Scott is a graduate of Towson University, and continues his education through classes and seminars to stay on the cutting edge both technically and conceptually. Scott sees projects through from concept to delivery, and is fluent in many forms of animation, both 2d and 3d. In his spare time Scott can be found traveling the world with his camera, playing video games and watching Harry Potter with his wife.
Andrew Petrilla | Associate Creative Director | Andrew is a software engineer by schooling, but a filmmaker by passion. While at The Ohio State University he found himself spending more time shooting videos with friends and pouring over an edit than he ever did writing lines of code. Six years since buying his first DSLR, Andrew is now a Director of Photography and Editor for The Garden, and has worked on a diverse range of video projects. From shooting and editing promos for the tourism industry in Asheville, North Carolina, to creating narrative content for companies like Volvo and Capital One, Andrew strives to tell stories in a down-to-earth, honest way - for clients large and small. When Andrew isn't behind the lens or screen, he can be found exploring new places with his wife, cheering for the Buckeyes, or rereading a Harry Potter book.
Jessica Ring | Co-Owner / Art Director | Jessica earned her BS and MFA in Visual Communication Design at Kent State University. She was an associate professor of graphic design in the Department of Art + Design, Art History, Art Education at Towson University, in Towson, Maryland. She is a graduate of the Academy for Dog Trainers, widely recognized as the Harvard of dog training. She owns and operates My Fantastic Friend, a dog training company in Ellicott City Maryland. Travel, hiking, camping, reading and knitting are some of her many hobbies…besides spending lots of time with her dogs and husband!
Justin Wolfson | Motion Designer / Illustrator | Justin earned his BFA in illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design, where he spent his time immersed in traditional drawing and painting while experimenting in computer animation. This skill set soon led him into the world of post-production in New York City, where he established himself at Click 3X as the go-to artist for all things related to illustration-heavy client projects and pitches, motion design and the occasional character design. He then spent the remainder of his time in New York City freelancing for various agencies and clients such as Google, Campbell’s Soup, Maybelline NY and SOHO Press before joining the team at The Garden Creative in early 2019. In his spare time, Justin enjoys discovering bizarre and unique t-shirts to add to his growing collection, as well as continuing to practice his traditional art skills with figure drawing and frequenting the Smithsonian’s National Zoo to sketch their animals who are usually asleep.
